Legal

What we provide

We provide remote online notarization performed by a Florida-commissioned online notary under Chapter 117, Part II, Florida Statutes, and, when ordered, preparation and filing of apostille applications with the Florida Department of State, with delivery of the completed package. We are a document service — not a law firm — and nothing we provide is legal advice. We apostille only documents we notarize, for use in Hague Apostille Convention member countries.

Your responsibilities

You must present valid government identification, pass the identity verification required by Florida law, appear on live audio-video for the session, and sign only documents whose contents you understand and attest to truthfully. The notary is required by law to refuse or terminate a session if identity cannot be verified, the signer appears unwilling or impaired, or the act would be unlawful — such refusal is not a service failure.

Payment

We invoice you after reviewing your request and before your session; payment is processed by Stripe and is due before the session begins. Prices shown on this site are per-document totals for the described services. Refunds are governed by our separate Refund Policy.

Timelines

Stated timelines — including the typical 7–10 business day window for apostille packages — are good-faith estimates. Florida Department of State processing times and carrier transit are outside our control, and we are not responsible for consequences of delays they cause.

Intellectual property

All content on apostillenotary.org — text, graphics, logos, and design — is our property and protected by U.S. copyright law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without written permission.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to our services is limited to the amount you paid us for the order in question. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including lost opportunities, missed deadlines, or the rejection of a document by any receiving authority.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are you a law firm?

No. We are a notarization and document service; we can't advise which document you need or how it should read. We notarize what you bring, file the apostille application, and handle logistics.

Do I need to mail you anything?

No. You upload your document and sign in a live online session. We handle the printing, certification, and Florida Department of State filing on our end — the only physical shipment is the finished apostilled package delivered to you.

What exactly do I receive at the end?

A tracked package containing your notarized document with the official Florida apostille certificate attached by the Department of State — security paper, gold embossed seal, unique verification number — plus the digitally sealed PDF from your session for your records.

Is online notarization legal?

Yes. Remote online notarization is authorized by Florida Statutes Chapter 117, Part II, is recognized across the US, and the Florida Department of State accepts remotely notarized documents for apostille.

Can you ship the finished package abroad?

Yes — the worldwide delivery option sends the apostilled package by express international courier directly to any Hague Convention country, fully tracked, typically arriving in 2–5 business days after the apostille is issued.

How long does the whole process take?

Typically 7–10 business days door to door: your notary session within about a day of confirming, roughly five business days of Florida Department of State processing, then tracked delivery.

Does an apostille expire?

The apostille certificate itself has no expiration date. Some receiving authorities, however, want the underlying document to be recent — commonly within 3–6 months for civil-status documents — so check your receiver's freshness requirement, not the apostille's.
